How can haircare really care?
With tools that are faster, smarter, and more sensitive.
We partnered on a project with a simple question: can we reinvent a product that has been fundamentally the same since first being available in the home in the 1900s?
The use case of a dryer is point-and-blow but it is about to get a whole lot smarter.
Adding intelligence
to the most practical tool.
A hair dryer is simple to use but expert results depend on the expertise of the user and every hair-type requires a new form of knowledge.
AireIQ aims to change that — the worlds first smart dryer learns about your hair type and styling habits to support you in both the every day and stepping things up for special occasions.
We explored various use cases and conceptualised various forms of intelligence and how it can enhance hair routines.
Once defined, we explored UI/UX approaches in paper prototype through to fully programmed physical mock ups to test by real users, finally delivering the on-product user interface.

Our work with T3 has always taken inspiration from their home in Venice Beach.
Lending from fashion, culture and the aspirational nature of the surrounding city, the palette is pure, elegant and with hints of opulence.
Influenced by ceramics, the main body finish has a subtle tactility in the hand and shimmers as it moves.
Punctuated with hints of rose gold, designed to draw the eye to areas of key interaction.
